Planned activities include cob building, hands on gardening, water catchment, design tools, and more. We’ve added many new hand outs, some dynamic new expert instructors, and assistants who can help ensure you get your questions answered.

Mocassin Lake
We are excited to be partnering with Moccasin Lake Nature Park, a 50 acre wild reserve in the heart of the most populated county on the East Coast – Pinellas – for our early 2012 series of courses and workshops. The park offers many opportunities to learn from the natural world as well as some exciting permaculture design potential. We couldn’t ask for a better place to facilitate permaculture education.
The park has already implemented a number of aspects of sustainability with off grid capacity, including solar panels, compost toilets and a windmill to pump water from well.

There is a lot of future potential, as well with plans for food production, including a food forest, aquaculture, native edibles, and more. An immediate neighbor is a watershed to the bay, providing a beautiful place to enjoy lunch while observing water systems. The classroom is climate controlled and includes a refrigerator and microwave; there is a learning center and museum that illustrates the local ecosystems and wildlife. We feel the rich and diverse environment of Moccasin Lake Nature Park is the perfect place to learn permaculture.
